Congratulations, Dr. Jauslin

After four years, Werner Jauslin successfully defended his PhD thesis titled "Exploring PI3Ks and related kinases in targeted protein degradation"

Our degradation specialist, Dr. Werner Jauslin, successfully defended his thesis today. After a great public presentation that was attended by many people, he was tested in more detail by the PhD comitee (consisting of Dennis, Konrad Tiefenbacher and Kathrin Lang) in the closed part of the defense. He masterfully answered their questions that even led back to the basics (which one is more foldable, a alkyl-linker or a PEG-linker, and why). Alas, successfully defended his work and was awarded with his PhD. Afterwards, he took the oath - publicly, and we ended the day with an awesome Apero organized by him and his family and friends.

I know that your time here was sometimes not easy, Dr. Jauslin - you deserved this, and the degraders you've found are fantastic. Congratulations! We'll surely miss your expertise in our group. We wish you all the best for your future!

PS - Congratulations on the acceptance of your paper only a few hours after your Defense - what a nice PhD present to receive!
