Group Trip 2023
"Best day of my life", participants say.
In early September 2023 we immersed ourselves into a two day adventure in the wild romantic Bernese Oberland. Early in the morning we arrived in Beatenberg and with some light hiking we reached the top of the Niederhorn. The magnificent view was a gift from mother nature that went straight into your soul. After a strenghtening meal we went on a fearless descent on trotinettes. The wind in our hair and cheating death we arrived back down at the lake where the venerable «Blüemlisalp», the only steam boat on the Thunersee, took us to the city of Thun. Our eyes glossy of joy and marvel, locked to the mighty steam engine, we were thrown right back to our childhood.
From Thun we arrived at the camping in Gwatt where we would spend our night in cosy tiny houses. On that evening, not only the stars in the sky were telling stories, never told before and never to be told again.
Early in the morning, the birds were still asleep, we went to the lake just infront of our beds to put our feet into the chill crystal clear mountain water and waiting for the sun to rise over the panorama of Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. Our senses were overwhelming. Our eyes saturated by the sheer beauty of the scenery. Our lungs were filled with the clean cold air. Our ears could almost hear the sun rising.
At noon we embarked into rubber boats on the Aare. Three hours of untouched nature was the stress relief and deep relaxation we needed. Daily sorrows were forgotten, we were on a river made from bliss and happiness.
In Bern we had an ice cream from world famous Gelateria Di Berna. With milk from the happiest cows and ingredients from the furthest valleys up in the alps, this ice cream is the purest form of joy money can buy. We went back to Basel having made friends and formed bonds that would last. We were one with ourselves. And one as a group.
If you pay attention you can still catch people looking into the sky and having a smile flicker across their face. You will know, where they just have been.
