A trip to Herbstmesse - and a welcome to our new groupmembers!

A picture of our new group members with a carussel in the back. From left to right: Giulia, Chiara, Minqi and Athira.

After our research report, we went to Herbstmesse and introduced our new group members to the traditional Chääsbängel lunch.

Its been a long tradition in our group to go together for a Chääsbängel on the Petersplatz, as its always fun to see new group members struggling to eat the fondue / hot dog fusion food without spilling the liquid cheese out of the bread. Nearly all of our group went - and only three of the older PhD candidates and one new member skipped it. We enjoyed the time outside the lab, with some of us enjoying mulled wine, too.

Afterwards, we got some desserts: Maagebroot, Brennti Mandle, Beggeschutz - and even some pastel de nata (which, according to one portuegese group members, are great - contradicting the statement of the other portuegese group member that they are bad. Guess you need to figure it our for yourself if you like it or not as even the inventors of that dessert are torn!).

On our way back, we stopped at the Resslirytti to take a picture of our new group members. On the picture, from the left to the right, are:

  • Giulia Mancini, an Italian Postdoc joining us from her stay in the US and is working on degredation projects,
  • Chiara Disraeli, an Italian PhD candidate who worked as a intern in the DEL team at Roche and is, surprisingly, working in our DEL team,
  • Minqi Pan, a Chinese PhD candidate who did her undergrad in London to study degraders, and finally,
  • Athira Kakkolliyil Prakash, an Indian PhD candidate who studied in India and works on DELs, too.

Welcome to the group!
